WWE Night of Champions
Continuing our long run of WWE shows with Creative Technology, we headed to the Jeddah SuperDome this May for Night of Champions. The indoor venue is the world’s largest geodesic dome.
The team included mainstays Ricky Holland and Jimmy Norris who have now worked on nine of the large screen LED builds and bring a wealth of experience to the job. Joining them was a UAE crew chief and team of local crew. Onsite from 18th – 30th May, they assisted with the build of the entrance screen, screens stage left and right, the stage skirt, VIP area, tower legs and camera screen. As you’d expect the build went very smoothly and everything runs like clockwork. The crew were asked to build a last-minute interview screen that was utilised before and after the matches.
Once the screens are built, the Showforce team support the technical testing and assist with swapping out any LED panels if required. They also prepare every singe box and dolly to ensure that the boneyard is fully ready for the de-rig which is a mammoth task in itself.
A team of five are on standby during the day of the show and they’re joined by the remainder of the crew for the overnight de-rig. This was a neat and tidy operation with the majority of the main screens down and stacked up on the first night. The day crew arrived to take over and the kit was packed and loaded on to trucks by the second day.
