COP28

Showforce supplied crewing support to the team at Identity and their supply chain to ensure the successful delivery of COP28. Held in Dubai’s Expo City from the 30th November – 12th December 2024, the annual climate change conference was a massive undertaking that incorporated multiple event spaces, meeting rooms, keynote theatres and breakout areas.

The Showforce crew were onsite for 118 days in total, our first day was 19th September with 40 crew, numbers grew during the build and peaked at 184 a day. Our international crew chiefs were tasked with managing teams that were split across 30 departments and Identity’s production and operations teams. Responsibilities included supporting with installation of LED screens, lighting and sound equipment, rigging, furniture, scenic elements, running cables, Heras fencing and crowd control barriers. We also had three site managers onsite from early November until the middle of December.

Another key element of the contract was the provision of plant equipment, we hired 19 forklifts and telehandlers, on behalf of Identity, and supplied a team of multilicence plant operators with all the relevant training and certification.  This was all overseen by our dedicated plant manager.
