Charge Around the Globe Finale

Another week…another job in France…

This time around we headed to Nice for the Charge Around the Globe Finale with Imagination.

Youtuber and adventurer Lexie Alford (better known to her followers as Lexie Limitless) set an official world record for being the first person to circumnavigate the globe in an electric vehicle. Driving the new all-electric Ford Explorer, Lexie travelled 30,000 km, taking in six continents and 27 countries before arriving at the finish line in France.

Showforce crew supported Stageco and Creative Technology with the build of the live studio for the finale. The stage was used to interview Ford executives and broadcast the final leg of Lexie’s journey and arrival in Nice on a large LED screen.

Given the tight timescales involved and the location of the stage in an urbanised area, the crew worked overnight to build the stage. When the day shift arrived, the structure was built and they were ahead of schedule, preparing lighting and PA equipment.  The crew also assisted with unloading furniture for several areas around the site from green rooms and dressing rooms to lounges and offices.

When the rain came during the breakdown the entire team remained in good spirits and worked through the night to complete the work.
