2024 EE BAFTA Film Awards
Showforce’s experienced crew were back in action for the 2024 EE BAFTA Film Awards this February. Held at Royal Festival Hall on Sunday 17th February to celebrate the very best in film over the last year. We worked with both the producers of the awards Penny Lane and Nibbs Events who delivered the prestigious ceremony’s famous Red-Carpet event.
The main build for the awards ceremony element was carried out on Thursday and Friday with us providing a team of crew that peaked at 33 to support the event’s production. They assisted with the unloading of equipment and distributing it around the venue, then during the install our crew and crew chiefs were kept busy assisting with the install of rigging, lighting, audio, set, LED screens and staging. They managed storage areas and prepared the venue for show. On the Saturday four crew returned to help the broadcasting team unload and distribute their kit around the venue. Whilst an additional four experienced stagehands worked alongside the stage management team getting the set and stage ready for show day.
On Sunday/show day our stagehands supported with show calls and then cleared the stage ready for the load out. Once the show came to an end a team of 43 crew returned to assist all departments with the de-rig and safe loading of kit onto trucks.
A team of crew were onsite from Thursday to Monday working alongside Nibbs Events supporting with the all-important Red-Carpet element which is always a highlight. There to assist with multiple site duties, from securing the perimeter fence; adding scrim to fencing and barriers; installing ropes and posts and helping Blackfriars with the install of the set. There were also forklift and scissor lift operators on hand to assist as and when required.
