SUPPORTING IMAGINATION WITH A LARGE CORPORATE EVENT
Showforce supported Imagination and its supply chain with the delivery of a large corporate event held to celebrate the second anniversary of an exclusive location. Our team was onsite for four weeks, headed up by six international crew chiefs who led crew chiefs, crew and plant operators. Numbers peaking at 117 per day during the build.
Our team was split into several departments and locations around the venue.
Those assigned to site management and general site duties were tasked with the install of fencing, scrim and temporary flooring; set up marquees; coordinating furniture deliveries and subsequently unloading the trucks and laying the furniture out in the correct location. This was alongside ensuring that the site was kept tidy and safe at all times. Our international crew chief assigned to this area also managed boneyards around the entire site, maintaining plant equipment and coordinating plant operators, ensuring they were available to assist key suppliers when required. This was all carried out under extreme time pressures as there were numerous suppliers each with a significant amount of equipment to load in and install.
Another team was dedicated to ensuring that the build of the event’s gala dinner ran smoothly. Given the amount of work required here, three international crew chiefs were assigned and worked together to carry out the extensive production and set build. This included:
- Installing 10 rows of truss, all equipped with lights.
- Mounting approximately 10 lights on the roof and another 20 on scaffolding outside the main entrance.
- Illuminating the entire road leading to the event with strategically placed spotlights.
- Installing expansive set pieces and positioning them
- Installing circa 1000 light fittings in structures
This was all coordinated with the site management team to ensure a seamless logistical operation. Trucks were guided in and out of locations, unloaded and all equipment sited exactly where it needed to be.
Once the event came to an end, the team assisted with the de-rig, working together to restore the venue to its original condition, leaving no trace of the large-scale setup we had completed just days before.
Working together, crew management onsite and our office-based operations team were able to navigate a build and de-rig that evolved on a daily basis. This included increasing numbers to ensure that the manpower needed to complete the scale of the task was available for our client and its suppliers where necessary.
“It was so great working with you Kraig! Thanks honestly so much for being such a ledge. Looking forward to the next one. Happy Christmas chap!” Sam Walker, Imagination
“Mate, thank you all for everything. I couldn't have done it without your help and support. You are a credit to Showforce.” Joe Mckeown, Maestra
