Showforce Think with GPJ
George P Johnson, the event marketing and event experience agency, called on Showforce in November when it tasked the event crew specialist to assist with a complex load in and setup at a large tech conference for one of the largest clients.
Held at London’s Old Truman Brewery, the event saw company executives and their clients gather to debate artificial intelligence at the event titled, Where Technology Meets Humanity.
Showforce provided George P Johnson with a project manager, two forklift drivers, 40 crew and four crew specialised in working at height. Together, the team unloaded and distributed kit, assisted lighting, set, video and graphics departments, moved furniture and oversaw the running of the venue’s first floor loading bay.
In fact, Showforce did such a great job that its crew received a glowing report and testimonial from Steve Beaton, health and safety manager for the George P Johnson event.
He praised the team and said: “I just wish to put on record my gratitude for the performance of two of your crew: Sarunas Prialgauskas and Joseph Le Gendre. They ran a very difficult and technically demanding first floor loading bay at the Old Truman Brewery with professionalism, diligence and – most importantly – exemplary safety standards. The level of duty of care required for this position was consistently high and both these individuals performed admirably throughout the event.”
Mark Bannister, George P Johnson’s technical director added: ““Showforce has again proved what a great crewing partner they are. They are the only crewing company in London that we would trust with an event of this importance and in a venue with such a tricky load-in, having a well-trained, experienced crew was essential.”
The main conference was moderated by Mary Nightingale, the broadcast journalist, and the opening keynote speech was delivered by Sir Chris Hoy.
