Showforce takes Pride in delivering for innovision

Working with long standing client innovision, Showforce provided crewing support for this year’s Pride in London event. innovision is responsible for its licensing, multi-stakeholder management, security, production, risk assessment, crowd and traffic management and operations. Showforce assisted with the set-up of multiple locations around London that were involved in the Pride celebrations. Completing 128 crew shifts on 5th and 6th July, Showforce was involved in the build and de-rig of the high profile, free to attend, event for the LGBT community.

The Showforce team were tasked with erecting crowd barriers along the route; installing power and distribution, sound, lighting and AV equipment at Trafalgar Square for the main stage, along with general crew duties for production, other suppliers and street food vendors.

Andy Peal, site manager for innovision in Leicester Square sent some positive feedback regarding the Showforce crew he had working with him: “Just a short note to say how good your guys were during the whole two days. I must in particular thank the crew chief, he is one of the best I have ever worked with, nothing was a problem, all jobs executed efficiently and with a smile, runs his crew firmly but kindly, and a very nice guy too.

This year’s Pride in London parade took place on Saturday 6th July and began at Portland Place before moving down Oxford Circus, along Regent Street to Piccadilly Circus, Lower Regent Street, Pall Mall and then passing Trafalgar Square before finishing on Whitehall. Acts who performed on the day included: Broadway sensation and Pose star Billy Porter, who headlined the stage at Trafalgar Square; Saara Aalto, RuPaul’s Drag Race stars Willam, Scarlet Envy & Soju; on the women’s stage was Heather Peace, Lloren, Sinitta, Toya Delazy, SuRie and Four of Diamonds.
