Showforce supports multiple Cannes Lions activations
Showforce supported a series of brand activations and events for this year’s Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, working with multiple clients including Amplify, Seen Presents, Design Scene and Public School.
Our team was onsite for three weeks, delivering more than 4,000 crew hours across projects for Google, Netflix and The New York Times, as well as additional activations at venues including La Croisette Beach.
For Amplify at La Croisette Beach, Showforce provided day and night crew to support the build and live event delivery. The team assisted with the distribution of pedestrian barriers and Heras fencing, catering setup, cabling, event decking and flooring installation. Crew also worked alongside Production TSL on lighting and CT Creative on loading, unloading and distributing equipment across the site. We also supplied a Luton Van and driver who drove kit across from the UK and then provided logistical support on the ground. This came with its own set of challenges given the paperwork surrounding moving goods in and out of Europe since Brexit.
During the show days Showforce’s crew remained on show call, carrying out changeovers and assisting the production team in ensuring equipment and artists reached the stage safely and on schedule.
The team also supported Seen Presents on the Netflix activation at the JW Marriott Hotel rooftop, working alongside the set team on steel framing, wood panel fencing and scenic elements ahead of the graphics installation. Crew also supported truck loading and unloading, the movement of production equipment from ground level to the rooftop, furniture builds, site cleaning, waste management and changeovers between live events.
Night crew provided additional support on site management, barrier setting for crane and safety operations, banksman duties, truck loading and offloading, guiding crane loads to department landing zones and ensuring the site was safe and ready for the following day’s activity.
Showforce also supplied local crew for The New York Times Cannes events across Marea Rooftop Restaurant, Carlton Hotel and First Croisette, as well as additional support for Design Scene at Palais des Festivals and Public School at Vega La Plage.
The project is a great example of our ability to support complex, multi-venue event delivery in a fast-paced and pressurised environment.
