Queen Anne Naming Ceremony

Showforce’s Liverpool crew worked alongside Event Production Management Ltd to assist with the delivery of a spectacular Naming Ceremony for Cunard’s newest ship, the Queen Anne. Held on May 3rd June at Liverpool’s Pier Head, it was a star-studded event with thousands gathering to watch the famous champagne bottle smashed against the ship.

Our crew were on-hand throughout the build and show day to assist with the event delivery.  Tasked with installing crowd control barriers and Heras fencing; setting up of the stage and supporting with the install of rigging and audio equipment; laying out furniture; ensuring dressing rooms were ready and erecting signage. We also supplied production runners, telehandler operators and stage crew for show calls.

Crew remained onsite to complete the de-rig and had amassed an impressive 972-man hours by the time the project had come to an end.

The event was hosted by Emma and Matt Willis and included performances from Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts and Andrea Bocelli. There was also a DJ set by Craig Charles and a firework finale.
