Island of Foam at Liverpool One

Working alongside Richmond Event Management Ltd, our crew headed to Liverpool One to assist with the ‘Island of Foam’ art installation on its iconic steps which was part of The Last Day of Summer waterfront festival. The event was organised by Liverpool BID Company, Culture Liverpool, Royal Albert Dock Liverpool and Peel.

The German artist Stephanie Lüning presented her unique multi-coloured and mesmering artwork. The Showforce initially unloaded all the kit before assisting with the set-up of the foam machines, filling and mixing the colour in containers ahead of the install and even painting cellulose glue on the famous steps. They also set up the water spray stations that were there to protect the walls at Liverpool One.

Crowds were delighted as the foam turned into a live art installation – growing and reproducing as it changed the face of the architectural features of the public space it inhabited before finally disappearing.
