Global Citizen Live

Supporting Live Wire Pictures, Showforce exclusively delivered crewing services to the UK leg of Global Citizen Live, a 24- hour global event held on Saturday 25th September to unite the world in defending the planet and defeating poverty. The UK event was broadcast on BBC 1 from London’s Sky Gardens, hosted by Roman Kemp it featured performances from Stormzy, Kylie, Duran Duran, Nile Rogers & Chic and Rag ‘n’ Bone Man.

Showforce supplied 62 crew shifts and amassed 632 man hours from 23rd -25th September, with a team of crew that included two crew bosses and three crew chiefs, working back to back around the clock, completing day and night shifts. Split into departments, the Showforce crew supported the lighting, set design, audio, broadcast and draping companies onsite with the load in, distribution and installation of rigging, camera, audio and lighting equipment. The team also assisted with the set build and install of draping to create backstage areas including green rooms. It was also responsible for ensuring that artists’ backline and set materials were loaded in and ready for rehearsals.

Once the show came to an end, crew worked through the night, completing the event’s de-rig, packing away and loading out all departments. It also assisted in the striking of artist green rooms and ensuring that the venue’s furniture was all reinstated in its rightful place.

Six of Showforce’s crew were onsite for four days when the festival came to an end assisting with the de-rig.
